A Lovely Outdoor Wedding at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes: Chelsea and Joshua

The weather in Florida is certainly unpredictable at times, but it was just perfect for Chelsea and Joshua’s outdoor wedding at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes! Expert coordination by Blush by Brandee Gaar kept things going smoothly. There wasn’t a moment that was less than perfect, and all of it was captured by the skilled lens of Concept Photography.

The ceremony was breathtaking! Chelsea made a lovely bride as she walked down the aisle, wearing the most brilliant smile and carrying the vibrant bouquet crafted just for her. Joshua, for his part, couldn’t keep the beam off of his face.

They wed below a floral arch crafted with hot pink garden roses, pink roses, and white hydrangeas, orchids, stock and ranunculus, to match the blooms used for Chelsea’s bouquet and the flower girls’ crowns.

Soon after our couple said their I Do’s, it was time to celebrate the start of their new life together! The outdoor reception was just as beautiful as the ceremony had been, with strings of lights lighting up the evening and illuminating the heavenly centerpieces on the tables, the hot pink blooms popping against the creamy white flowers.

It came to an end all too soon, but this couple’s wedding really was one for the books! Congratulations, Chelsea and Joshua! It was a pleasure to design your wedding floral!

Weddings, whether big or small, are always an amazing experience for all involved. Russell and James’ wedding was no different.

Meticulously put together by Alison Watkins of Blush by Brandee Gaar, the event was equal parts intimate and sophisticated. Sara and Jason of Concept Photography beautifully captured every little smile and detail at the reception.

The day began with a simple yet gorgeous ceremony at the beach, followed by a reception enjoyed by all at a private residence. Keeping with the navy and yellow theme, the couple donned striking boutonnieres of single yellow calla lilies.

While James and Russell opted for all yellow flowers, the arrangements we created for them were anything but boring! Centerpieces featuring yellow calla lilies or yellow tulips evoked warmth and comfort, while the yellow roses adorning the buffet were the picture of elegant simplicity. Even the delicious, three-tier chevron cake expertly created by Party Flavors Custom Cakes looked even more beautiful surrounded by yellow roses.

Four Seasons Orlando: Janessa and Steve

Every girl dreams of a wedding worthy of a royal, but only a few are lucky enough to have one, like Janessa and Steve’s wedding at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World. The coordination by Abbey Gray of Blush by Brandee Gaar was flawless as usual, and the breathtaking event was photographed by Concept Photography.

The day began with an intimate ceremony, with beautiful, soft draping by Swag Decor and floral arrangements of white and pink along the aisle. Janessa stunned in a long, white princess gown by Solutions Bridal Designer House, perfectly complemented by the pastel bridal bouquet that we’d created with peonies, roses, ranunculus, and garden roses.

Casa Feliz: Jenni and Jason

Where do we even begin to describe this truly one of a kind event? It was a privilege partnering with Blush by Brandee Gaar to design a vintage, rustic chic wedding for Jenni and Jason at Casa Feliz Historic Home MuseumConcept Photography outdid themselves capturing the details and style of this truly stunning wedding.

The beautiful bride walked down a brick paved aisle, where she and her groom exchanged their vows under a wooden trellis woven with an abundance of pastel tone roses, stock, hydrangea, and greens. The bride carried a bouquet with coordinating wildflowers and succulents–what a modern twist!

The reception was something out of a dream. The clear top tent with dangling light pendants from Kaleidoscope Event Lighting really set the tone. Guests reveled in the feeling of rustic chic with the exposed farm tables and french country chairs. The enchanting romance was brought to life with soft and relaxed floral centerpieces. The vintage aesthetic shown through when we mixed and matched textures and finishes of the floral vases. With the variety of blooms and whimsical nature of the arrangement, the design looked stunningly effortless–as if they were picked fresh from the garden that day.

Bella Collina: “A Night of Wedding Bliss” Luxe Gala

Chalk board floral

We were truly honored to be a part of Bella Collina‘s recent event, “A Night of Wedding Bliss.” The evening was devoted to wedding luxury in all its facets. All of the wedding venues of Bella Collina were decked out by some of the finest wedding professionals in Central Florida. These photos by Concept Photography are just a taste of what we designed and doesn’t even showcase HALF of the beauty of the night that was created by our colleagues. Well done, everyone!

Green hydrangea runner

We worked with Blush by Brandee Gaar to outfit the small dining room with three very different looks on each of the long dining tables. Linens by Kirby Rental and decorative items by A Chair Affair really made our tables come to life.

On the central table, we created a dramatic floral table runner out of green hydrangea. Warm-toned hurricanes, lanterns, and votive holders glowed against the rich, glossy wooden table.

Another of our tables featured ornate metal lanterns and woven chargers for a garden feel. For our floral garland, we used a variety of pink and white blooms with plenty of greenery so that the look was natural and carefree.

Our third table was all about shimmer and shine. Glitter table runners set the stage for crystal candelabras, gold flatware, and glimmering chargers. Our floral pieces were tight and composed, with classic wedding favorites: white hydrangea and pink roses. A sweet rose was added as a special touch to each napkin.

Finally, we added the perfect floral touches to bring the naked cake by Two Sweets Bake Shop to life. Just like the rest of the room, we used pink floral and greenery that balanced between formal and casual.

Hot Trend: Unique Floral Pieces

At Lee James Floral Designs, we love creating classic, romantic floral arrangements. However, we’ve noticed that there are many couples who dare to be different! We’ve collected some of our favorite unique floral pieces that we’ve made over the last couple of years which may inspire you to branch out and go against the grain.

Choose floral types that are not bridal standards if you want to make a bold impression! Here are some of our favorites:

We love these purple and green bouquets, photographed by The Hons Photography, which use a unique blend of floral. The bride’s bouquet is a very organic bouquet of green dianthus blooms, safari sunset, deep burgundy dahlia tucked in with pops of purple anemone, ruffled purple parrot tulips, blue thistle floral, hypericum berry and fiddle fern finishing out the look. The bridesmaid’s bouquet is a more simplistic design using many of the same flowers: green dianthus floral, wonderful green button mums, seeded eucalyptus as a base floral with bold deep black burgundy mini calla lily blooms shooting out of the center as a focal point.

Another idea? Choose one, statement-making flower as the centerpiece of your bouquet.

In this bride’s bouquet, the large King Protea takes center stage. (Fun fact: the protea is the national flower to South Africa and also found in Hawaii and New Zealand.) This bouquet is a single bloom King Protea with safari sunset foliage, wonderful silver brunia, and seeded eucalyptus throughout. Photos by Pietri Photography.

Succulents are a HUGE trend for bridal floral. Many bridal bouquets that we have created lately use succulents as an accent among roses, peonies, lilies, and more. But what about a bouquet made primarily of succulents?

The bouquet here is an assortment of succulents with yellow yarrow blooms, seeded eucalyptus and wonderful hypericum berry finishing out the look. Paired with a coordinating wreath headpiece, the look is lovely for a wedding. The wreath uses stripped-down ivy runners intertwined with fresh grapevine and coordinating blooms and berries throughout. Photos by Andi Mans Weddings.

Another non-floral bouquet look, once again captured by Andi Mans Weddings, is this striking bouquet. It is rare to see a bridal bouquet that is so bright green! We used seed pods, curly fiddle fern, and a touch of green calla lilies to make this unique bouquet.

Zen Garden Bride

Turn your centerpieces into conversation pieces by incorporating unusual floral and foliage, or just by trying traditional floral in a new style.

We designed the following centerpieces for a “Duck Dynasty”-themed birthday party. The arrangements emulated the look of the swamps, with cat tails, seed pods, mosses and fungi, and pops of tiny yellow blooms. Photos by Andi Mans Weddings.

Using one unusual flower makes a big impact! For this African-inspired photo shoot with Concept Photography, we placed single blooms of orange and yellow pincushion protea in simple jar vases at different heights.

Still not convinced about unusual floral? You can still achieve a unique look with more traditional blooms.

Try an arrangement that creates a striking shape, like these bold burgundy calla lilies which we curved into a sphere.

Grand Bohemaian Hotel, Lee James Florist a

For a romantic and rustic wedding, we tucked roses, lilies, and greenery into bud vases. The vases were placed in compartmentalized wooden trays to look as if they were brought in from a market. Photos by Jordan Weiland Photography.

We hope you have been inspired to try something new in your next floral arrangement! Be bold.

Bella Collina: Amy and Brandon

Amy and Brandon, who live in Boston, had the ultimate fairytale wedding at Bella Collina. The couple was only able to come to Florida a couple of times before the wedding, so luckily they had the fantastic team planners at Blush by Brandee Gaar to help create the wedding of their dreams. Amy was inspired by classic love stories like Beauty and the Beast, and you can definitely tell in the floral and decor! The photographers from Concept Photography did a beautiful job taking these wedding moments and making them into artistic memories.

White bridal bouquet

Pink and white bouquets

Amy’s bouquet was romantic: all roses in muted shades of cream, mauve, and pale blush pink. Near the wrapped stems, we used dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus for understated greenery. Her bridesmaids carried similar bouquets that also included bright pink roses, which are seen throughout the ceremony and reception decor.

The arbor for their ceremony was absolutely breathtaking! Clusters of pink and cream roses with trailing greenery were strewn about the iron arbor, creating an illusion of a private menagerie-like space for the couple to say their vows. We lined the aisles with pale pink roses affixed to chairs, and also created a rose-covered surround for the romantic chandelier that hung from the arbor.

The reception took place outdoors. The Tuscan elegance of the venue was highlighted by rustic farm tables and French country chairs from A Chair Affair. We enhanced the Old-World, European undertones with antique-looking vessels and candelabras overflowing with pink and white roses.

Westin Lake Mary: Marissa and Jason

Marissa and Jason held their wedding ceremony at the Westin Lake Mary outdoors. Sitting in A Chair Affair’s crystal chiavari chairs, the wedding party watched the bride walk down the aisle holding our pink bridal bouquet that matched her pink, black, and white color scheme. Her bridesmaids all had matching bouquets in white instead of pink. Concept Photography captured the event, coordinated by Something Borrowed, for generations to come on film.Westin Lake Mary, Concept Photography, Something Borrowed, Lee James Floral 1

The reception expanded on the white, black, and pink color scheme, crating a fun and festive atmosphere. Over the Top’s paisley white and black table linens draped each table, accompanied by A Chair Affair’s black chiavari chairs. Our silver candelabras were decorated in crystal beads and topped with pink plumes. Alternative centerpieces provided three smaller, but still as stunning, candelabras. Design Elements provided various other décor items. DJ Carl kept the wedding party dancing to various tunes all night long!Westin Lake Mary, Concept Photography, Something Borrowed, Lee James Floral a

Ever wondered what it’s like to be on an African safari? We bet it would feel something like this, except a bit hotter and more dangerous. We paired up with Concept Photography and Imprint Cinema at a private location, to create a safari wedding!

The color scheme was orange, yellow, and gold with animal print accents. The outdoor long-grass fields of the location made the safari feeling come alive as did our orange and yellow flowers! We hope this trend will catch on because it’s a lot of fun and totally different from the modern and vintage trends we’ve seen recently!
